Michelle is excited to be back with the Meyerhofer family! Michelle has over 23 years of recreational and competitive dance training under her belt. While specializing in tap and jazz, Michelle is also trained in lyrical, ballet, and musical theatre. She has been a recreational and competitive dance teacher at the Meyerhofer Academy of the Performing Arts for eight seasons, and her routines and choreography consistently win overall awards at both the regional and national level. Selective awards include the Terpsichore T3 Award, for the highest mark in the 12 & under division; Highest Overall Mark of the Kiwanis Festival; five time recipient of the Highest Tap Mark of the Kiwanis Festival; and Overall Choreography Awards at Dance Canada, Dance Starz, Kick it Up and American Dance Awards. Michelle’s students are currently working for the Stratford Festival, the Charlottetown Festival and have recently been seen in Drayton Entertainment’s “Footloose” and “The Little Mermaid”. While completing an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree at Wilfrid Laurier University, Michelle also co-founded and co-captained the Wilfrid Laurier Competitive Dance Team. Under her direction the team won many accolades including BAM Champions, for the highest collective overall mark of the competition. Michelle is also a member of the Professional Adjudicator’s Alliance (PAA) and will be participating in the FRESHplus Dance Intensive this summer. Michelle is excited to continue share her knowledge and passion for dance with the students of Meyerhofer!
